RKL Group Private Limited had been registered in the Republic of Maldives on 19th Day of January 1998. The name “RKL Group Pvt Ltd” symbolizes the group of 8 heirs of late “Rankokaa Lhahuththu” (initialed as RKL) who wished to jointly invest the inheritance received from their father’s miscellaneous enterprises that was started as early as 1957 as a small café. RKL’s business broadened to include General Retail Shop as a supplement business. In the later part of 1959, RKL managed to run a popular café known as “Janavaree Hotel” and a bakery as well. Catering services was also added through preparation and selling of food parcels at Hulhule International Airport. Production of incense sticks and Attar (perfumes) for the local market was also undertaken as there was good demand.
